More Holiness Give Me

MORE HOLINESS GIVE ME
This is the concluding hymn of the meeting. What should we be feeling?

 (H. David Burton)  "At the conclusion of every general conference, I experience a longing for more—more of the serenity of the occasion, more of the companionship of the Spirit, more of the nurturing that has brightened and blessed my soul."
(Read the rest of his talk here "More Holiness Give Me" )

In his talk he suggests that the words to this hymn fall into three categories:

Personal goals we can make;
qualities that would help us endure adversity; qualities that will anchor us to our Savior.

Which one(s) do you long to have "more" of?
How will you "act" on that longing today?

More holiness give me,    personal goal
More strivings within,
personal goal
More patience in suff'ring,
      adversity
More sorrow for sin,               adversity
More faith in my Savior,
personal goal
More sense of his care,
anchor us to our Savior
More joy in his service,
anchor us to our Savior
More purpose in prayer.
personal goal

More gratitude give me,   personal goal
More trust in the Lord,
personal goal
More pride in his glory,
anchor us to our Savior
More hope in his word,
anchor us to our Savior
More tears for his sorrows,
anchor us to our Savior
More pain at his grief,
anchor us to our Savior
More meekness in trial,
adversity
More praise for relief.
adversity

More purity give me,        personal goal
More strength to o'ercome,
adversity
More freedom from earth-stains,
adversity
More longing for home.
adversity
More fit for the kingdom,
personal goal
More used would I be,
personal goal
More blessed and holy--
anchor us to our Savior
More, Savior, like thee      anchor us to our Savior

See tomorrow's blog for a summary of what this General Relief Society Meeting has taught us to strive for more of.
